Like most independent specialist bike builders I want my customers to be more than happy with their purchase and for that reason I invite anyone who is thinking of purchasing a Hickman Bike to actually try one out first.
The advantage of Hickman Bikes is that potential customers who are already satisfied with their riding position on their own bike can have it replicated on a demonstration bike, or alternatively, customers can also opt for a "Hickman Bike Fit" see Bike Fit. This option is where your perfect riding position is found by gradually adjusting a demonstration Hickman Bike until your ideal position is found whatever your riding style. Once that position has been established you will feel as though you can pedal forever or you want to up your speed as your power output is being more efficiently transferred though the pedals. You can then go on to assess and enjoy the Hickman Bike's handling, climbing, downhill and cornering characteristics to the full in the glorious Sussex countryside.
After trying out a Hickman Bike there is no obligation to buy but if it helps to discuss any aspect of the bike before an order is placed then I am only too pleased to do so.
Because a Hickman Bike is so adaptable the ordering process is very easy. There is no need to supply me with any physical measurements as the bike adjusts to fit you. The only requirement is to choose from the following purchasing options and then email your choice together with any questions or further information that you require.
Purchase Option 1 - Frame Only
All Hickman Bike frames come with a quill type variable position handlebar stem, forks, saddle mounting tube & clip, internal cable routing system and a standard single colour paint Scheme for £2,250-00 + delivery. The above option will have a lead time of 4-6 weeks and an initial deposit of £500-00 is required to initiate the order process. The full balance of £1750-00 will become payable prior to despatch.
A different fork option can be specified to change the rake, fork material or headset system although the latter may restrict the range of adjustment on the handlebar position. Also if the customer is sure about their handlebar position and are confident that future adjustments will not be required then those customers can use a conventional fixed length stem of their own choosing together with a compatible fork set. These latter options may necessitate a little discussion to be clear about what is required and may subsequently affect the overall price up or down depending on the customer's instructions.
Purchase Option 2 - Complete Bikes
There is of course an option to have a complete Hickman Bike built up by myself and I am happy to provide a cost based on a customer's component choices either supplied by myself or from another source entirely.
Hickman Bikes can be built up to suit different riding styles including fixed wheel, single speed (hub) transmission, road and touring versions. Some of these versions can be viewed by clicking on the following links:-
The lead time on these options will be greater than the frame only option but will be as soon as possible after I have received the components that has been specified to build up the complete bike.
Purchase Option 3 - Fully Customised Complete Bikes
Hickman Bikes can be fully customised with special options according to customer's unique requirements that do not specifically fall into any of the above options. For instance whether its a multicolour paint schemes, special purpose attachments or something that has not been done before, I am willing to discuss them all and if physically possible manufacture the final product.
Finally the cost of any option cannot be estimated until the customer's requirements are fully specified and understood. It is therefore better to discuss with me what exactly is required and then a full and final cost can be given where upon the customer can then decide whether to go ahead with a firm order.
